RIP Dusty Rhodes

Post by Red_And_Yellow » Thu Jun 11, 2015 2:29 pm

One of the all time greats died today. His feud with Ric Flair is among the most memorable feuds ever and could roll out of bed seemingly and put together a great segment. True legend of the business and he will be missed.

That's tragic and terrible news. Rhodes was one of the all time greats. May he rest peacefully.

Very sad news. I'm not old enough to have seen him perform, but his influence and legacy is so incredibly clear to see that I don't need to have watched him to know what an enormous loss this is.

Even in recent times he was able to give us memorable moments. The survivor series match with his boys teaming was incredibly emotional. That'll be something I'll need to find on the network over the weekend.

I thought that was at Hell in a Cell in 2013?

EDIT - Think it was at Battleground after doing some quick Googling.

I'm old enough to have a bad memory. Thanks for the fix.

Somebody on Twitter said it best, Dusty Rhodes is either why you love wrestling or why your favorite wrestler loves wrestling.

I hope at either mitb or Monday night raw they honour him by tolling the bell 10 times for him and that Cody becomes Cody again even if for just one night. Rip dusty

Sad news, RIP. Still, 69 is a good innings for a pro wrestler so good for him in that regard.

Sad as it is to say LK. I had almost gotten used to wrestlers not making it deep in their 40s or even reach 50.

Perhaps we should put together a match compilation of Dusty's on the Network to watch and talk about? I've heard his match at Starrcade 85 with Flair is awesome.

His death made the news of our biggest news outlet here (Sky). The article was terrible and spelt Seth Rollins name wrong and neglected to mention he was champion, but the fact he made the news here at all speaks volumes.
