I seriously did not expect Orton to win. Should be interesting to say the least going into Mania.

No Samoa Joe :(

No Joe. Omega was trolling and Angle was telling the truth. Guess Shelton and Finn's injuries haven't heeled

I am betting on an Orton vs Bray match. Kind of a weird choice to Main Event, but so would it be Orton/Cena.

And it seems Roman Reigns vs Undertaker. If Roman turns heel on this angle, it might be the best moment of his carreer.

The next Smackdown ppv is the elimination chamber so there is a fair chance Cena might not walk into Wrestlemania as champion. It sets up lots of possibilities for Orton.

I really didn't want Orton to win until I checked my pool and seen I had him as no23 then Went all mark out for him.
I think Wyatt may win now at elimination chamber setting up him vs Orton at mania.

My bet is on Cena/Orton at Wrestlemania. Cena's whole schtick right now is about holding off the new generation and being grumpy old man. Not dropping the belt at Elimination Chamber checks that off.

Orton is Cena's main contemporary rival and they've never wrestled one-on-one at Wrestlemania, let alone for the WWE Title. That'd be like Rock and Austin not dancing. Not dropping the belt at Elimination Chamber checks that off.

If Kevin Owens is, in fact, going to Wrestlemania as Universal Champion you need a real Wrestlemania Main Event. Sorry Kevin (not sorry). And Bray Wyatt could carry a secondary main event championship match at Wrestlemania (with a good build), but he's not carrying THE main event of Wrestlemania. Not dropping the belt at Elimination Chamber checks that off.

They certainly could go in another direction, but I'd be mighty nonplussed if Randy Orton didn't face John Fucking Cena at Wrestlemania for the WWE Championship

I'd be stunned if they did Cena/Orton again. There's no point anymore, no one gives a shit. Just because they're contemporary rivals doesn't mean it has to happen (they have not been rivals in years either, and people are in general sick of the match). The time for it was years ago, not now. It'd be incredibly tone deaf to do it now, especially with Cena and Orton on the wrong side of their careers.

Creating and cultivating new stars has to be primary concern numero uno for Vince and Co. They need guys like Bray to have the WM main event rub and they need to give it to him against guys like Orton who are still full time and can give someone the rub now.

Waiting to see what happens is probably the biggest offense WWE commits on a consistent basis. They rarely ever strike when the iron is hot, the iron is ready for Bray and this can catapult him to another level. They may never get this opportunity again with him. They have to act now or he may never be this hot again.

May never get this opportunity with Bray again? Does he have Leukemia and only has 6 months to live or something? That is some powerful hyperbole.

I approve of it!

Sure, the response to my post is talk about a potentially deadly disease. Why ignore how important timing is in wrestling?
