Rugby without a doubt. That might not have been my answer three or four years ago, but my interest in the sport has grown a lot since then. At the same time, I'm once again becoming quite apathetic towards soccer. The sport is corrupt on so many levels and the standard of teams in Ireland and the UK has dropped massively. At this stage, only the Spanish game is keeping my interest alive.El Canuck wrote:If you could only watch one sport for the rest of your life and had to pick between Football (Soccer) and Rugby, which would you pick?
One of the things that makes rugby so engaging for me is that it's the only popular team sport at which Ireland excels on the global stage. We currently have the best team in Europe and have a genuine shot at winning the World Cup in September. I've also spent much of the last five years in the main rugby city of Ireland, which has had an effect.
Rugby still runs primarily on passion and skill, and has not sold its soul in the same way that soccer has. I've also come to really enjoy watching a good game. It's almost like American football without a stoppage in play every ten seconds.
