A Former WVer died.
I just read Canada's Greatest Heel was killed in a drunken car wreck, which was posted by his nephew on his forum. Well, even though he wasn't exactly liked much around here, he was a member of this forum. Himself and Paul never got along, but as said, he was a member at one point in time.

An untimely death is always saddening.
In his defense, it always appeared that he played the "heel" role here on WV as a sort of "devil's advocate"; a counter to the Bret Hart worship that abounded here at the time, and it was easy to see through for what it was. His arguments always went against the grain, but seemed deliberately aimed at the BH fans simply to raise controversy. I never had a problem with him.

Ditto. I never had any problems with CGH and this is definitely sad news to hear.Mafwanix wrote:An untimely death is always saddening.

well, i actually appreciated him for a short time here in the old days.
As Maf said he continually attempted to refute the worship of bret hart
and it made for interesting conversation, even if paul and his church of Hart usually won the arguments in the minds of all the little sheep.
If he was the drunk and caused his own death, then I have no sympathy for him. Since that fact wasn't confirmed I will give him the benefit of doubt and assume that it was he that was killed by a drunk driver and in that case I feel terribly for his family. No one deserves that!!

^ apparantly a 19 year-old drunk driver was at fault
My Uncle Scott, aka Canada's Greatest Heel, was tragically killed in a car accident last night (May 30). He was 39. Apparently, a drunken 19yr old male in a minivan ran a stop sign and Scott didn't have a chance. The whole family is in shock.
I'm not sure how active the forum has been lately, but please let others know as needed. I may paste a link to the news item once I can find one via Google.
It is a terribly sad day for our family.

That's exactly what I read. I just find the situation as a whole of someone being killed by a drunk driver unacceptable. I say it's just as good as murder.Ghetto Blaster wrote:^ apparantly a 19 year-old drunk driver was at fault

Just because fjustice lied doesn't mean everyone else did. His nephew's the one that reported it, highly doubtful you'd lie about family.Marcos wrote:I'm amazed how you do keep coming back, you do rock good sir.anarchistxx wrote:Yeah, have to say he was a bit of a legend, shame to see him go, was pretty active on his forum for a while.

Not trying to get the last word in or anything, but as far as I'm concerned, it's the truth. I'm in an efed he was in, and he was a regular poster in and out of character, and just over a month ago he suddenly stopped posting. Coincidence? I doubt it.theoneandonly wrote:You'd be surprised, sir...metallicamaniac wrote:Just because fjustice lied doesn't mean everyone else did.
