Not that the Kings' sustained push wasn't looking to net a goal anyway, but they didn't need a gift to do it

This OT is no fun. The Rangers can't get anything going.

Good, powerplay for the Rangers. Just as I posted that they started getting a few things going. Not nice things, but...things.

Rangers with a power play, good rush, but they just couldn't get the puck between the pipes.

Almost two OT's later. The Kings win the cup. That's a wrap for the 2013-2014 NHL season.

As they say, "That's a wrap!" Congrats to the Kings.El Canuck wrote:Almost two OT's later. The Kings win the cup. That's a wrap for the 2013-2014 NHL season.
We'll do it all again in October.

Re: NHL 2014 Stanley Cup Playoffs
That was a valiant effort, and while they didn't finish when they had the chances, they did well in forcing LA to OT in all 3 home games...
And now their watch has ended

Indeed LC, we shall be back again this fall to discuss it once more.
And I believe you called the Rangers winning one game before dropping the series Goober.
There was a few times last night where the Rangers had wide open chances and just couldn't get the puck in that net, a few post bounces, puck going wide, it just wasn't happening in OT. They were spent, LA was spent too, but the Rangers were exhausted.

The Rangers are not the most talented team, but they do have their strengths, which is their goaltending, the effort lessons they learned from Tortorella, and incredible individual speed.
If they can catch the breaks, they can drag a team with more talent into deep waters, like they did with Pittsburgh, who wilted once the pressure was on.
Not only were the Kings more talented, but they just kept coming at you with all four lines and their defensemen smashing you and grinding you into dust. Lundquivst made games 1,2, 4, and 5 winnable, but they couldn't make it count in the 3 LA games. If they had taken even one of those games, I would've felt very comfortable saying it would go to 7.
LA simply took the series by the scruff of the neck when they got their chances. Nothing more or less than that

Just wondering if any of you watch the NBA Playoffs. Anyway, my personal favorite team is the Dallas Mavericks. I am praying that they win it all. I absolutely love Dirk Nowitzki and his fade-away jump shot... lol... Its a thing of beauty. My prediction is it will be Dallas from the West and Boston from the East. Then, Dallas will beat Boston in the Finals and Dirk will be an NBA Champion
