I created one gimmick, and that was for my champ. Otherwise I've been using stock gimmicks for now. I just try to make things in line with the existing things as far as balance goes.

I've never been concerned about "cheating" in that respect, so I always use an avatar that has 100% refereeing, psychology, and respect, so that I never have to hire a ref or road agent. Makes it so that I'm only focusing on performers, and not support staff.
