Maintenance issues & the needed presence of Paul Nemer
Maintenance issues & the needed presence of Paul Nemer
Greg, has there been any effort to get the attention of one Paul Nemer to attend the boards and fix the editing issues in the Off topic and Sports boards and to complete a black on white theme? I recall you saying that after Mania you would be attempting to contact him.

Yeah the talk of the black on white theme excellent!
I've gotten use to the current theme but there are people here that have eye
issues and wear glasses word prefer to see a lighter theme.
It was original with black pearl once removed but I helped get it back ahh
those other themes may have cost me but I must of been bored.
Yes the current theme is wrestleview but there was always subsilver2
god black pearl wasnt even close to wrestleview...
Think about peoples eye visions also

I think they should add some additional white on black themes, but nothing with a light background for you crybabies complaining about it.

The clock is off because the server's clock is off. That's not something we control, and is not something we can fix.

Re: Maintenance issues & the needed presence of Paul Nemer
I'm the admin of a gaming mmo fansite that has literally thousands (and often tens of thousands) of daily visitors. However, I'm not the programmer. The programmer made me the admin when he knew he couldn't commit the time necessary to do the basic daily tasks. Our website offers incredible features and statistics about our game that no other website offers, but bugs happen and some things need to be addressed. I'm useless in that regard, I need him to fix them. It often takes months for things to be addressed. Some things still haven't been addressed. I've gone three weeks without a reply from him to my latest message. He's too busy (literally) to get on his computer.
I absolutely feel the pain of having the guy in charge not be around to fix the things that need to be fixed. I'll assume that Monsieur Nemer is a busy guy.

Absolutely. Works some crazy hours with his job, and he's constantly having to troubleshoot issues with the main Wrestleview site. It has a huge archive, and loads of traffic, so there's always something popping up in need of attention.
He'll get to us. We're just not a top priority in his life.

Exactly Andy, which is why I think he needs to delegate admin authority to an active member, that way all but the most critical of coding issues can be rectified without Paul having to deviate from his higher priorities.

Meh, let's just start a "Argentina will lose the World Cup this year because Bret screwed Bret" and he will appear. Those are some kind of magic words to bring the Nemer here.

Re: Maintenance issues & the needed presence of Paul Nemer
If only that would work.

I don't see how emailing and posting is going to help anything, he is just going to tell everybody else the same thing he tells Greg.
Let's face it, we're not a high priority.

And by "telling everyone else the same thing he tells Greg," he means "not responding."
