Greatest Frontman Ever

Post by Phoenix88 » Fri Feb 17, 2006 10:55 pm

Simple enough. In your opinion who's the greatest frontman for a band ever.

I'm going with Freddie Mercury, one of the greatest singers ever, and reeked of charisma.

I have to agree.
He was born to sing and never disappointed.

Anywho, I vote Freddie Mercury. Amazing voice, amazing range, amazing stage presence... just all-around the greatest ever, IMO.

Am I getting that predictable?

Jimi Hendrix
Robert Plant
Hetfield
Eddie Vedder
Freddie Mercury

I dont think we had this exact thread. The other was about singers.

There's a best singer topic. But there's a difference between best singer and best frontman. When I think of a great singer, I'm thinking of voice. When I think of frontman I think of voice, presence, charisma, connection with the fans. Everything like that.

For example, most wouldn't consider Axl Rose the greatest singer ever. But he was a great frontman, because he could get the crowd into the performances with his stage presence.

Cedric Bixler or Zach de la Rocha. Both bring amazing energy to their respective bands.

Oh, you don't know who that guy is?

Probably the gayest, but funniest frontman ever. Oh yeah, his pitch and tone could kick Freddie Mercury's ass.(no disrespect to the man)

Aside from the aforementioned Freddie, I'll have to go with Glenn Danzig.

Also worthy of mentioning:
Robert Plant
Joe Elliott
Davey Havok
Corey Taylor
Eddie Vedder
