That was sensational. Elizabeth Warren is sensational and she's 100% correct.

I'm going to start putting Trump videos here, because at this point they're not adding to our discourse on the election, they're just adding to our confirmation bias. I'm going to save commentary for topics like we had yesterday that can actually amount to something.

That being said, here's another Lawrence O'Donnell banger. This time, from last night. I'm not going to spoil the headline for you, just let it wash over you naturally.

The election is really causing some overrun huh? The Romney/Obama thread didn't even crack a page. "Hitlerian Disregard for the Truth" strong but sadly apt words.

Romney was a guy we didn't agree with but he wasn't inherently bad. Trump is inherently bad bordering in on inherently evil. There's a big difference

Lawrence is right, he's one of the most, if not the most ignorant figure in political history.

In related news, I'd like to highlight an episode of a podcast I heard recently. Shaun King's appearance on Politically Re-Active. Well worth checking out.

James O' Brien was purely stupefied reacting to that.

I understand that the violence and rioting reacting to the killings was totally wrong, the GOP's pure lack of a clue in commenting on it doesn't help at all either, thankfully there were some cooler heads last night.

I wouldn't say the rioting is totally wrong. Totally illegal, sure. But when your voice, rights, and basically humanity is treated with wanton disregard, you really aren't being left with many options.

Black people are being told they shouldn't speak up, basically don't have a right to speak up, and that there's nothing to speak up about. So what do you do when people flat out deny something is happening?

I totally understand and agree to a large extent people were out to protest peacefully and have their voice heard in large but when you have violence, looting, and rioting by people that were in and around the protest it only makes progress more difficult and it's easy for narratives to form elsewhere. It's a systemic failure absolutely but it muddies some waters in a way that's not constructive.

Yet, as we've seen over the last month, when someone(s) protest peacefully and honorably, people find a way to discredit and dismiss it just the same. So doing it the "right" way doesn't work, and it leaves people feeling like there aren't any other options left

Yeah, there's definitely not one "right" way, despite people's desire to bow their heads in front of authority the system doesn't afford people that same right. No progress was ever made without the expense of politeness or inside the line tactics, I agree. I want progress and I just see those parts as a step back and handing narratives to people that don't see a problem and want to restrict the progress that the people speaking out want to see. Last night was much better, a lot of outspoken protesting but signs of co-operation too.

Off topic. This makes me feel incredibly small. This is what is visible of the Andromeda Galaxy.

Wow, that's wonderful, there's nothing too off-topic here. That's what the thread is about.
