A new thread for items you want to bring up that might be a bit miscellaneous and might not carry a thread by themselves but you want to highlight anyway.

I'll go first, here's a video perfectly explaining how nostalgia works and why it's so difficult to live in the present:

This thread gave me the exuce to post a Vsauce video that talks about what humans will/are leaving behind. But, the point I'm jumping to at 17:00 is the interesting one to me. It's about the Library of Babel. A digital library that contains everything that's ever been written or ever will be written.

That does make some very good points, I would, however, point out that there are a lot of variables he's not accounting for like different vehicles, different engines, the number of occupants, weather conditions and traffic laws but his heart is in the right place.

We should totally do self-driving cars, given that there's an option of a failsafe.

That's a really powerful letter, Dr. King like Gandhi and Mandela is the measuring stick for approach social progress, actions that are sadly too toxic in today's environment to approach with a sincere level head. I can only imagine in this day and age how they would try to smear him.

You'd think it couldn't be worse than it was in his time, but they'd find a way now
