I see your reasoning Goober but to end it without even the hope a replacement and leave these people further in limbo doesn't help. Trump cynically knows congress will do jack shit. Given where the balance of power and political will is it simply doesn't suggest it will end constructively.

Which just goes to show, even when they do the right thing, they can't do the right thing

A conversation between Goober and I went somewhat viral on Twitter. A first.

That agreement Trump made with Democrats on Hurricane Relief and the Debt ceiling is an interesting twist in the wind.

Yeah, that is the strangest thing I've ever had catch the wind of twitter. And this time I did it without someone famous retweeting it.

Everyone trying to assign reasoning to Trump's play is pretty fun to watch, as if anyone in the punditry has figured out how and why Trump does what he does

Trump operates on a level of raw consciousness. What the pundits always miss is that trying to put anything he says or does into any kind of an intellectual framework is completely pointless.

I'd read that the other day, and I concur.

I have not seen that, better check it out.

Saw Trump's comments on protesting NFL players, revolting to say the least. This is the same guy whose dipshit fans drone on about freedom of speech. The man is a disgrace.

President Dotard. Favorite tweet of the week is LeBron James calling Trump a bum, so simple yet effective 😂😂

And my affection for dear Tomi Lahren has finally come to it's natural conclusion. Because fuck everyone who doesn't understand what a protest is for:

Didn't she make a name for herself with that video on the Blaze going after Kaepernick?

Yeah, that was her coming out party. I just couldn't pass up on her complete lack of awareness with that terrible t-shirt. She's such a bigoted idiot

So along with Stephen Colbert, the Emmys, Hillary Clinton, the movie Django Unchained, and a bunch of other non important shit, Trump has gone harder at NFL players than he has Nazis and Russia.

It's weird that I agreed more with Rocket Man than my own President.

Lahren's nothing but a cash-in on the rising tide of angry right wingers during the Obama era. I have never felt a genuine inflection from her in anything she's said or done, she comes across to me as someone who sees propagating to the angry right wingers as profitable venture.

As for the right wingers whinging over athletes kneeling for the anthem, they're fucking hypocrites, every last one of them. Those same right wingers suddenly so patriotic about Old Glory are the same ones who either wave around or don't raise issue with the Confederate Flag, the flag of the enemy rebel state that tore America apart. The same right wingers who say all Americans should reflect the flag for the sacrifices of the armed forces of the United States (once again) either wave around or don't raise issue with the Confederate or Nazi flags, two flags under which soldiers marched and killed the same American soldiers who gave the ultimate sacrifice under Old Glory. You simply can't even feign issue with athletes kneeling during the anthem while your own party has fully embraced the flags that stood for two enemy nations that sought to destroy the flag and the country you so claim to be patriotic about. Standing behind a President who supports and gives refuge to ideologues of the Confederacy and Nazism is not patriotic, it's not standing for free speech, it's showing active contempt for America and open embrace of the very ideals America fought against and defeated.

Everyone's a hypocrite in one way or the other except that anyone other than a Republican is held to a higher standard for it. The same people were outraged that some conservative (mostly alt right figures) get a frosty reception at some universities are really up in arms over player protests which under their own fucking constitution gives them the right to do.

You can't be surprised when the biggest white nationalist dog whistle campaign in history ran by a bigot produced results like this.
