In the past few weeks, I've seen...

2 new Knockouts champions
An Ultimate X Match
No DQ TNA World Heavyweight Championship Match
The introduction of a new, questionable match type (Grand Championship Matches)
Matt Hardy's Petting Zoo of Old Souls
Delete Or Decay
Empty Arena Exposed Turnbuckle Match.

I mean, what the everloving fuck is holding back to these guys?

9/22 Impact thoughts

Holy shit, they didn't have a crazy match or match type this show!
I am over the Grand Championship format. Holy balls does that it kinda kill the flow of a match. The results are refreshingly predictable and make sense for the story they were trying to tell.
X-Division match of DJZ/Trevor Lee was about what you'd expect from a... hm... how to put this... Miz/Neville match.
Good call on the ending to the main event of Lashley/Bennett vs EC3/Moose. EC3 rolls u Bennet as Lashely isn't in the picture. Everyone kept at their appropriate levels, didn't giveaway the upcoming PPV match.

Unlike the post-main event angle... on 9/29, Lethal Lockdown, Team EC3 vs Team Lashley... Fucking hell TNA. You literally can't even give me FIVE MINUTES to praise you for doing something right.

Surprisingly, this was the most cohesive show in the entire month I've watched TNA. From start to finish, there was minimal bullshit and overtly self-serious nonsense.

So far, I wouldn't call TNA on the whole "Good". It has it's bright spots, but it's bogged down by too many offputting things. They have all this over the top stuff going on, but they play it straight. The only people that realize what they're doing and how they're acting is dumb is the Hardys and the Decay, and they ham that shit up and OWN their characters. A lot of the roster is a bunch of bland variety of Tough Guy, and they just fall into cliches. Aron Rex has been around for 5 weeks, touted as this big deal and he's... there. He's a guy. He's functionally similar to Braxton suttor, or Eddie Edwards (with fewer movez and flips, natch). The roster, apart from a few people, is a homogeneous mess.

Looks like it could well be the end of TNA as it is.

I'm going to try to get the 9/29 Impact out of my way so I can finish BFG and wash my hands of this company. I'm giving it a fair shot, but holy balls, is it taxing.

Today is D-Day for TNA. If the company isn't purchased today, they won't have the funds to run BFG on Sunday or TV tapings next week.

Right, I recall you mentioning that. In retrospect, it was a silly comment for me to make anyway, there's nary a wrasslin' lady in the major independents and the SHIMMER/SHINE circuits that you wouldn't know about.

TNA 9/29 In Progress review.

Opening segment is a thing. Main event is going to be a super BFG Preview Showcase. TNA has been good to EC3.

X-Division title match was a thing.

Allie is adorable still, Maria is a right bitch.

Apart from one or two short blurbs, the interview with Matthews/Bennett/Moose was... it existed.

Laural Van Ness vs Madison Rayne was a thing. LVN has the character work down, but not the in ring stuff. Match was very... well, of all the matches I had seen up to that point, it was the most recent.

This Aron Rex/Drew Galloway got a little too cute. Dropped a reference to Rex's former catchphrase of "You're Welcome", and then referenced the Stunt Double stuff. TNA Security is more useless than WWE Security. Galloway literally tossed off 2 guys like they were nothing, and hit a piledriver as all five stood there like dopes.

Decay are constantly one of the most enjoyable things about TNA

Rosemary/Reby: It's amazing how much better a match is when you give a damned about the people involved. Fun post-match brawl and video package for the fight this Sunday, hokey effects and all.

Eli Drake: Entertaining enough promo, but if it runs too long, he runs into wearing his schtick thin. Especially detrimental in matches when he goes to the same crowd interaction/taunt too much.

Lethal Lockdown is stupid. This is so dumb. So many stupid rules.

- Start 1v1
- After 5 minutes, the first entrant joins the fray, then they alternate teams ever 2 minutes thereafter.
- Lashley's team won the coin toss, so whenever teams are inbalanced, he has the man advantage.
- Through extension, the freshest person into the match will be on the team that didn't have the "advantage"
- the match cannot be won until everyone has entered the match. Hit a finisher in the first 30 seconds? Tough.
- The weapons on the cage that are clearly within reach? Can't be used until all competitors entered the match.

How did Lashley use his 3v2 advantage with Drew, Lashley and Bennett in the ring against Rex and EC3? The cage match equivalent of a rest hold, with a boot pressed to the side of the head against the cage. Lashley literally spent 60 seconds of his 2 minutes doing that.

This match is so stupid.

SO STUPID

God fucking dammit that was dumb.

Lethal Lockdown is based on the War Games matches, minus the double ring/cage setup. It's a difficult match to pull off, but when done right can be pretty entertaining. Admittedly, I may be remembering the NWA/WCW events through rose coloured glasses.

I'm sure the concept isn't an entirely lost cause.

It's just executed so poorly in TNA it feels.

There's a reason I've been pushing for over a year for you to watch a war games match on the Network and you haven't yet.

Just saying, stick with your gut on this
