Update on Hulk Hogan and his current deal with TNA

Post by isrs4life » Sun Aug 25, 2013 5:12 pm

from the front page of wrestleview

Hulk Hogan making a deal with Take-Two Interactive to be part of the upcoming WWE 2K14 video game definitely turned some heads and started speculation about his future with TNA according to a report by Dave Meltzer. Hogan's deal with TNA allowed him to make outside deals like that although many took it as a very public "slap to the face" of TNA.

He hasn't been featured on TNA television for the last four weeks and wasn't at the last two Impact Wrestling TV tapings. Hogan is scheduled to return at the tapings this Thursday (8/28) in Cleveland. Keeping Hogan off the show was described as a "significant cost savings" for TNA. Hogan's deal with TNA is believed to be expiring over the new few months.

You think he will resign or go back to WWE?

The question should be whether TNA will re-sign him, or will have to settle for a WWE Legends contract.

Legend's contract? Bullshit. Like Vince would ever let the Hulkster settle for a legends contract. We're talking about the man here, and I mean THE MAN. The greatest technical wrestler of this generation, who still has a lot to offer in the ring. He won the title when he was 50 and still moved like he was 25. If anything after surgery to repair his back he's in better shape now then he was back then. I'm betting he's already in negotiations to return to WWE full-time. I'd love to see him headline Mania' with John Cena, or maybe even another match with The Rock. Hell, I'd even love to see him end the deadman's streak.

Seriously, fine whatever, have him save a nobody from RyBully and save the day or make an appearance once on Raw, but for the love of all things decent, don't have him appear in the rumble or have a WM match. PLEASE! If WWE has ANY respect left, they will ignore him, he's already in the HOF, so no need to promote his ass anymore!

The man's a ghastly expense for TNA, for little return. He might also be pissed that Brooke got cut. I'd say he'll have to settle on that Legends deal.

And Greg, if we're running TNA threads off course, we're only doing what TNA themselves do with their own storylines. We're making the TNA threads like TNA itself in tribute.

The Hogan experiment worked initially, he brought attention to the tna product. Now he's not adding anything at all the the company or the tv show except a gigantic wage cost. Him being let go won't have any negative impact on tna at all.

TNA should let his contract run out, he's brought nothing to the ratings and I think other than a rare appearance the days of massive pops for Hulk Hogan week in/week out are done.

The money TNA would save could be used on bringing a couple of young guys onto the roster.

Or, you know, keep up with payroll, for the people they do have on the roster.
